Some of the posterGIANT crew headed out again last weekend to clean up some more poles around this fair city.

This time, the destination was Fremont.

Three utility poles were our targets there on Fremont Ave North: one pole in front of Sonic Boom and 2 across the street.

This first pole, across the street from Sonic Boom, wasn’t nearly as bad as the other two. Since this was the case, it was apparent we had our work cut out for us.

The posterGIANT crew went out again on Saturday Dec. 10th to strip the wooden poles on Capitol Hill. Every pole on lower Pike was stripped down using various hammers, crowbars, and saws. The crew was out all day prying off as much of the materials as they could get their hands on. With better tools, and some experience under their belts, the crew was even more effective than the previous cleanup.

posterGIANT spearheaded a Capitol Hill cleanup crew on November 19th. The crew consisted of over a dozen men and women coming together to strip the poles on the hill, something thathas not been done since the poster ban was lifted in 2001. The crew gathered in the early morning and proceeded to tear down the layers of posters on the wooden poles which had accumulated since the lifting of the ban. The act sparked a buzz on the hill with numerous passers by stopping to chat and show their appreciation.
