The first ever Refugee Olympic Team (ROT) competes this summer at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Made up of displaced athletes from 4 different countries – South Sudan, Ethiopia, Syria & the Democratic Republic of the Congo – their inclusion in the games is meant to show solidarity with the world’s refugees while drawing attention to the ongoing refugee crisis worldwide & the European migrant crisis. Posters went up in London, Berlin, Paris & Edinburgh, putting a personal face on one of the biggest social issues in recent memory.
